We had a very memorable visit to Colosseum. My family really enjoyed the visit. The only problem we encountered was - at first we were struggling how to use the Audioguide as it was not handy. Luckily we carried our own mini earphone that we can pluck to the Audioguide and it helps a lot.

If only getting the audio cassette and getting into the Colosseum and Forum were as easy as getting the tickets. Massive crowds - and we went at 9:30 AM. Getting through the gate in a sea of people - not fun, and this was the day after Christmas when you wouldn't expect much of a crowd.

The visit was good however the downloadable audio guide wasn't the best idea as this relies on us having a smart phone or tablet and then bringing it to the colosseum with us. it would be preferable if the audio guide was included in the ticket. Also, we wanted russian and this is the language we selected in the ticket however the downloadable audio guide came in English so we had to purchase audio guides anyway.
[Tickitaly responds: We arer sorry if you had troubles taking our audioguide with you but we remind that - as specified online - we only offered Colosseum tickets including a downloadable audioguide to all our clients (in English only and free of charge). Now the options have been enlarged and we are actually able to offer different kind of Colosseum tickets so that you can choose your favourite service. A multilingual audiuoguide to be collected on the spot is also at disposal now!]

The downloadble Audio was not user friendly; "downloadable" gives the wrong impression of being able to listen to it even if I was not connected to the internet, and that was not the caes, and it ended up being completely useless.
[tickitaly responds: Due to the fact that there are rare problems with the downloadable audioguide we will be introducing new options as of mid-September 2014.]

By the time we arrived at the Colosseum and located where to redeem our vouchers, we barely had time to enter the Colosseum and take a quick look, let alone make use of the audioguide. We only scheduled the Colosseum and Sistine Chapel for the period between 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., but were so rushed because of walking distances and waiting times that we did not have nearly enough time to see them both. My husband was very disappointed, as he said he could easily have spent several hours at the Colosseum.
[Tickitaly responds: Considering that such highlights can be crowded - mostly during high season - is always recommended...especially when you wish to visit deeptly and not just see them!]

It was nice that I was able to download the audio guide. Consider a more detailed audio guide with more information, and map with visuals so I know where to look. I would pay extra for this.

The fact that you can only exchange your voucher for tickets at the Coliseum for a mere 20 minutes (8:30 am to 8:40 am) was a real pain, costing us at least 45 minutes of valuable Coliseum visit time. The Coliseum visit was the only time in 15 days that we had rain spoil our visit somewhat. Due to the heavy rain, we didn't get to roam around the inside as much as we hoped. It also wasn't clear where the route to the inside began and how to follow it around the inside of the Coliseum to the exit point. Better signage needed.
[Tickitaly responds: Unfortunately the ticket collection arrangements and signage change frequently and are entirely outwith our control (as is the weather!) We do our best to keep our information current but we can't always keep up.]

I would advise people to get a human guide. Audio guide was fine but I think the interaction with a person would be better.

The tour was good. We just had to do this instead of the upper and lower so we were just a bit dissapointed

Guide while pleasant, was not highly knowledgeable and stumbled on what to say. Needed more practice.

The audio guide was very short and hard to find. One of the stops you could not get to due to construction and this was not clearly marked. The Colosseum is amazing! It is well worth a visit, but perhaps a guided trip would be better. ALSO the audio guide only included the colosseum - not the Forum.

We had booked an 8.30 am tour and had arrived by 8.10 am to stand in the line. Once we were inside the Colosseum, there was only one ticket window open. Many tour guides would walk up to the ticket window, cutting in the line. We had to wait for almost half an hour to get to the window although there were only six people ahead of us just because of these people endlessly cutting in before us.
The information in the audio guide was helpful but the signs were hard to find.
I am going to recommend my friends to take a real tour guide.

The Colosseum was wonderful and the tickets perfect, however the chaos at the Colossem entrance was awful. We had to leave the disordered crowds which were all for skip the line and returned late in the afternoon when there seemed a little more order. On our return we had a straight forward entrance and really did skip the line just as the website suggests. This was no fault of tickitaly but of the venue. Colosseum is a must see and I would recommend tickitaly for tickets.
