I highly recommend the night tour. We had two well-informed guides…one for the walk to the Colosseum, stopping at its exterior; the other for the interior tour. There’s something eerie and beautiful about being inside at night. I heard another tour group cheering and could imagine what it would have been like watching the gladiators in the arena.

The small group tour was very good. Our guide was knowledagble and patient. She also helped with moving between levels by accomodating us on the lift.

Having said that, it was amazing! On the walking tour the guide was fantastic....clear, knowledgeable, funny, and made it very exciting! Unfortunately, she left so quickly that we couldn't tip her! Unfortunate ply the guided tour inside was very disappointing. First, she started speaking long before the group was together so you missed everything and secondly, no audio headphones so even if you were up close, she was so soft spoken no one could hear her! Again very dissappointing! But the experience was just wonderful - please pay attention to my comments! I wasn't the only ones but most won't fill this in!

To say my family and I enjoyed the tour would be an understatement! We loved it, I really couldn't recommend this tour more if I tried. The tour guide was clearly extremely knowledgeable on all aspects of the history of the Colosseum and the Roman forum as well as the architecture and earlier history of Rome. She truly brought the whole area and its past to life. From the beginning of the tour at the column of Trajan to the Colosseum itself we learned so much of the city of Romes past. We had all ages in our group an over 60, teenage girls and two boys aged 11 and 7 - all of whom were attentive and awestruck by the magical stories of this historic area. Visiting the Colosseum at night was an experience none of us will forget - it was truly one of the high points of our visit to Rome. There are many many tours operating in Rome - I would advise this one!

Our guide for the Forum part, Rosanna, was fantastic. Her English was perfect and accent free. She spoke clearly and TO us. She was knowledgeable and you could tell she really enjoys sharing her Italy with tourists. One comment though: It was a little hard to find her in the crowd with just a small clipboard. Perhaps you could give your guides a flag, or something more obvious to make it easier to spot them.

Awesome, we has an archeologist take us for the first part of the tour. Very entgusiastic and informative. The lady who took us below was very good as well. Overall a great time and there was only 6 of us in our group. So lots of oppuurtunity to ask questions.

Small party, excellent guide and adequate time in the hypogeum. The guide gave us a lot of time for photography.

Guide was wonderful and knowledgable. There was only one other tour the night we went and it felt as if the colosseum was open just for us. Magical (and cooler temperature wise ) at night time

Upper and lower levels of the Colosseum are a don't miss. You get to get where the majority of the public does not get to go led by very knowledgeable staff.

Great tour. The 3 hours one allows you to see parts and views of the Colosseum not accessible under a general ticket while avoiding the long ticket queue.
