The actual tour was exceptional, however the check in and waiting for the tour to begin was somewhat chaotic.

The Domus Aurea was a highlight of our trip. The guide was very good and the tour was very interesting. We learned so much more about the history of Rome. Everyone should put this on their list of things to do but be sure to buy tickets well in advance of your stay in Rome. This tour sells out very quickly. I was thankful for other reviews that mentioned the entrance was a little difficult to find so did my homework in advance to find the entrance to the site.

For many years visiting the Domus Aurea has been a dream for us. The tour was wonderful. Our guide, whom we only remember as Michaela was superb. She really understands the place and what is happening now. The virtual reality feature was a great addition to her presentation.

Excellent tour of the stunning Domus Aurea, with a knowledgeable and interesting guide - just wish it could have been longer. The only downside was the people who couldn't control their bored children while the rest of us were trying to concentrate on what the guide had to say - please bring in an adult-only tour!

Very interesting to visit! We enjoyed it very much. And it is nice to see that they are still working on it! You can see that during the tour. Also for people who have already seen it, it's still interesting because they have uncovered a new area!

This tour really was incredible. As you tour Nero's house it's hard to image that this home is now way underground and not open to the public. We saw a lot of art and history while in Rome but this was by far one of the best tours I took. Even my 10 year old held on to every word the guide spoke. She was very good and really enjoyed introducing up to the historical home.

This is something everyone should see it is fascinating and the excavation work being done is amazing. Very good English speaking guide who was working on the site and explained the site and the work being do in great detail. The entrance to the site is not obvious and we had a number of helpful people misdirect us but we got there in the end.

Loved the tour! Our guide who was also an archaeologist who is currently working on site was very informative and had a vast amount of knowledge that she was eager and willing to share.

This was really well run, though a little rushed. We didn't see all the rooms that were open to visitors because of time constraints. There needs to be some time allowable for visitors to ask questions and it not to affect the time allotted to the tour.

Guided tour in Domus Aurea was excellent. I visited it perhaps 40 years ago. Since then it was closed. Every time I was in Rome I wanted to visit Domus Aurea again, but it seemed to be closed for ever (Questo รจ Italia). Being in Rome last october I had the occasion to visit it again, in preparation of a guided tour (I had to guide) last june. I was guided by an Italian archeologist who spoke perfectly English. That's why I decided to include the Domus Aurea in my tour. The persons that were with me were very pleased with the tour in the Domus Aurea. The entrance fee is a little bit high but knowing that it helps to pay the conservation costs it is certainly worth the price. As for me it could even be higher.

This is the second time I have been into the Domus Aurea, one of the major surviving monuments from Imperial Rome. The group was large and the guide was difficult to hear unless one was at the front. My one recommendation is that a large plan of the structure could be displayed at various points as the small plan taken from the publication, which the guide held in his hands at waist level, was too small to be viewed by everyone. In spite of this, the guide's knowledge was excellent and the tour was appropriately paced. I thoroughly recommend this tour to anyone interested in ancient Rome.

It was amazing to experience and having an archaeologist who works at the site leading the tour was brilliant.
