Information of group bookings at the Uffizi Gallery & Accademia (David), Florence.

The information on this page only applies to group bookings, those with a tour guide or leader!

Recent years have seen great changes at these two galleries as the authorities try to manage and minimise the impact of large tour groups. Please do read these regulations and understand that they are strictly enforced by the gallery staff - failure to respect these rules may well see your groups be denied access. The limitations vary for the two galleries, so do please take note of the details to be sure of a seamless visit!

The Uffizi Gallery.

  • The absolute limit for any guided group is 16 people (15 plus guide) - groups larger than this will need to be split into multiple groups of 16 - please contact us for help in arranging this.
  • We don't want to seem heavy-handed here (these are rules set by the Florence authorities, not us!), but if you don't book as a group and enter on individual tickets, then, once inside, assemble and commence to tour as a group with a guide/leader, then the staff will not be happy and may well ask everyone to leave.
  • The Uffizi Gallery now charge an extra fee per group booking - currently 70 Euro per group.
  • We cannot accept bookings for European School Groups - as these usually qualify for free entry they need to be arranged directly with the Uffizi.

The Accademia & David.

  • The absolute limit for any guided group is 16 people (15 plus guide) - groups larger than this will need to be split into multiple groups of 15 - please contact us for help in arranging this.
  • All guided groups above 8 people (with guide/leader), including school or study groups, are required to use headsets to reduce noise levels. If these are not in use by the group already then they may be hired at the gallery. At time of writing the cost of hiring equipment, to be paid on-site, is Euro 1.50 per person.
  • Guides are not allowed to use laser pointers.
  • Only authorised guides are permitted to give tour commentaries - these may be officially recognised and licensed tour guides, or, in the case of schools and colleges, the qualified teacher, lecturer or professor.
  • If you are a group requiring a qualified guide (again, a 'group' is defined by the Accademia as being above 8 people) then we can organise that for you on request.
  • We cannot accept bookings for European School Groups - as these usually qualify for free entry they need to be arranged directly with the Accademia.
