*Weekends only in high season* This is a new, longer (approximately 2 and a half to 2 and three quarter hours) guided tour that includes the entrance fee for the Colosseum (plus the Roman Forum, Palatine Hill and Palatine Museum) as well as the cost of the tour guide. You'll be part of an official group tour, meeting inside the Colosseum itself. This longer tour runs on Saturdays and Sundays only in high season, and every day of the week at other times.
The tour also includes a downloadable "Colosseum and Roman Forum" ebook guide in PDF, mobi and epub formats.

Overview

This (weekend-only in high season) tour heads off at 10.00 (there is a Spanish language tour at 10.15) in the morning and lasts around two-and-a-half to three hours. It goes into much greater architectural and historical detail than the standard tour, covering the Colosseum and the Roman Forum / Palatine Hill areas extensively and informatively.

IMPORTANT: Security measures have been increased at the Colosseum and, even though a tour ticket is for entrance at a specific time, the authorities are currently telling all visitors to arrive 30 minutes before entrance time. Please see this page for the most up to date information.

  •   This is a full 'skip-the-queue' ticket.
  •   Details will be supplied, but you'll meet directly at the Colosseum.
  •   The ground-level of the Colosseum is directly accessible to wheelchair users, the first level is accessible via an elevator. The area around the Roman Forum is bumpy and not ideal for wheelchair access.
  •   Bring good footwear, a water bottle, and sunscreen in Summer.
  •   You may use a copy of your voucher on a mobile device to gain admittance.
  •   Tour lasts approximately 2.5 hours.
