Opening soon is a major exhibition that focuses on a noted period in the production of Bronze Sculpture in Florence, the age of the last Grand Dukes of the Medici family.
The list of artists on display is a long one, but first and foremost is, most certainly, Giambologna and his school. He, together with Giovan Battista Foggini and Massimiliano Soldani Benzi, is undoubtedly responsible for the rebirth of Florentine bronze work, the Florentine masters creating a model for the rest of Europe.
