Florence’s Palazzo Vecchio is rich in frescoes and painted ceilings, and one special room – the Sala degli Elementi – is now even richer, having reopened to the public after extensive renovation work, with colours restored and decoration enhanced.
The work was financed by private donations, took two years, and saw around 800,000 Euro spent bringing the third-floor room back to brilliant life.
Various part of the Palace may be visited, but only as part of a guided tour – see here for Palazzo Vecchio guided tours.
