Florence, Uffizi Gallery,

This long-planned exhibition features some well known pieces, together with some new works created especially for this show.
It takes place (largely) in a new space at the Uffizi, the Magliabechiana hall, comprised of 12 large, crisp zones, picked out with natural light and sharing a single large room with vaulted ceilings.
Gormley uses many materials and techniques, with a central theme of the body in space and the body as space. Two works will be located alongside traditional exhibits, carefully juxtaposed, and yet another work will be located on the external terrace of the gallery.
