Giorgio Vasari and the Emilia Romagna artists – a ‘controversial relationship’

In the ‘Edoardo Detti’ room of the gallery, this exhibition, in the 450th year since the publication of Vasari’s ‘Lives of the Artists’, focuses on the writer and artist’s relationship with artists from Italy’s Emilia Romagna region, notably as a result of his stay in Bologna in 1539, and the relationship with the artist Parmigiano, a stay reflected in has book.
