** Update ** – the initial date is now completely sold out and a second date has been announced – Saturday the 27th of July 2019. The concert remains unchanged from the first date, and it has also been announced that Andrea will be performing with his son, Matteo.
For those of you who’ve already reserved your visit to Tuscany, here are the just-announced details of the 2019 edition of Teatro del Silenzio; for those of you who have not yet reserved, we’d encourage you to act quickly, as this looks like being sold-out in record time!
The title of the event is ‘Ali di libertà’ – Wings of freedom – and the night is destined to be a very special one, as Andrea Bocelli and a range of international stars of Belcanto perform a host of beloved opera pieces, classic songs from well known works and composers, presented in what is being hailed as a truly innovative multi-sensory experience where not only the senses will take flight!
Trailed as a ‘monumental project’ that will see pieces that have become loved as part of the repertoire of the last 20 years performed on a midsummer’s evening where the public will feel part of a movie set, the evening is dedicated to the human desire for flight.
Visionary technology will see earth and sky, performer and spectator come together in (literally and figuratively) moving sets, currently unparalleled anywhere else, all filmed by television cameras for the first time.
The sensory experience is inspired by the 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci, and will, through design, choreography, technology and pyrotechnics, celebrate the desire of flight and the overcoming of limits.
