Florence, Galleria dell’Accademia
December 5th 2017 – March 18th April 15th 2018
Exhibtion – ‘Tessuto e Ricchezza a Firenze nel ‘300. Lana, Seta, Pittura’
Opening soon at the Accademia (home to Michelangelo’s David) in Florence is a rare exhibition of fine – and very rare – works of costumery, decorated works in fins wool and silks of the 1300’s.
Florence was already setting a precedent for fashion and the ‘Made in Italy’ brand over 700 years ago, when pieces of incredible artistry and workmanship were in demand across Europe and beyond.
Th exhibition begins together pieces from both national and international collections and underlines just how fabulous were the riches created for the city from this production, funds that built incredible buildings such as the cathedral Santa Maria del Fiore or the Palazzo della Signoria.
