‘Da Brooklyn al Bargello: Giovanni della Robbia, la lunetta Antinori e Stefano Arienti’
Florence, Bargello Museum, 9th November 2017 to 8th April 2018
This exhibition sees the return of a piece that left Italy in 1898, the Lunetta (half-moon) of the Resurrection by Giovanni della Robbia, commonly known as the ‘Antinori Lunette’.
Probably commissioned by Niccolò di Tommaso Antinori in around 1520, the piece has undergone major restoration in the United States, work funded by the modern generation of the same Antinori family, hence the ‘from Brooklyn to the Bargello’ of the exhibition title.
