Another year that looks likely to bring more changes and issues for those wanting to visit the Colosseum in Rome, especially where the underground ‘dungeon’ areas are concerned.
There’s the possibility that some underground areas may be closed for essential maintenance work, though this is balanced by the expectation that the fourth and fifth upper levels will be more consistently open (they opened for the first time to selected visitors in October 2017). Then there’s the increasingly popular ‘by night’ tours and the ongoing changes to booking arrangements, with monthly tickets not being released until a few short weeks beforehand.
The only certainty is that there will be more changes and increased demand, so you’re advised to sign up to our mailing list here below – select the months that interest you and we’ll email you just as soon as there’s any major news and/or availability.
