A quick post to say that we’re now accepting bookings for Colosseum after dark tours until the end of 2017.
Here’s the text of a message we’ve just sent out to people on our mailing list:
Technically, bookings are now open until the end of 2017. That’s the good news – the tours will definitely be going ahead – but as is often the case with Rome, there are still a couple of bumps in the road!
Tours will be running with the following schedule:
March: Saturdays only.
April & May: Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
June to September: every day of the week.
October: Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
November: Fridays and Saturdays.
December: Saturdays only.
There are tours in English at 8.40 PM, 10.10 PM, in Italian at 20.20, 20.50 and 22.30 PM, and in Spanish at 22.40 PM.
These tours are available on a very limited basis and as such we always recommend early booking! The booking system has changed for 2017 and bookings for April won’t be able to be confirmed until the last week of March, with bookings for April until year end being confirmed in the first half of April. We’ll put any affected orders on backorder-hold status and confirm them just as soon as we’re able to. This will be done on a strictly first-come, first-served basis and, as ever, no charges will be made until your booking is confirmed.
Lastly, the tour outlined above is slightly shorter than our own exclusive tours that also include an after-dark visit to the Roman Forum and surrounding areas. These are guaranteed ‘pre-booked’ tours lasting around 2 hours – we hope to have these on sale within the next ten days and will let you know as soon as there’s an update.
Given that as yet we cannot definitively confirm any tours beyond the end of April (nobody can!), if you want to be sure of a visit then we’d advise you to request the date you’re interested in, we’ll put your order on backorder-hold and, if and when one of our pre-booked 2 hour tours catches your eye, we’ll cancel the order in the queue and process the newer one.
Sorry it’s all so complicated, and here’s the link to the booking page.
