Short and to the point – we’ve just been told that until June 18th 2012 some rooms of the Uffizi Gallery will be closed as a result of ‘improvement works’. To be precise, rooms 26, 27 and 35, home to works of the 16th century by the likes of Andrea del Sarto, Pontormo, Rosso Fiorentino and Bronzino.
It’s not unusual for various rooms of the Uffizi Gallery to be closed to visitors. Regrettable, of course, but the wealth of Renaissance art on show is so vast that you’re unlikely to feel anything but sated.
