‘Etruschi’
Palazzo Mazzetti, Asti, Northern Italy
17th March – 15th July 2012
A major exhibition, with the collaboration of the Vatican, featuring more than 300 pieces from assorted national collections.
The centrepiece of the show is the ‘Villanova’ bronze crested helmet, discovered in the late nineteenth century in the river Tanaro, but the exhibition also features many other splendid pieces that have never before been on show to the public.
After nearly half a century, Piedmont is once again hosting a major exhibition on the Etruscans, who were the first to act as a cultural bridge between the Mediterranean world and Celtic Europe. An extraordinary opportunity to admire a fine selection of Greek and Etruscan objects, from the Vatican Museums and major Italian collections.
