‘Rizomata. Terra, Aria, Acqua, Fuoco. Il Ritorno di Brueghel all’Ambrosiana’
Biblioteca Ambrosiana, Milan
From March 27th 2012 until (? nobody is saying until when, for now at least)
The ‘return’ of Brueghel (he was painter to cardinal Federico Borromeo) sees his four masterpieces – Earth, Wind, Water and Fire – reunited for the first time in 200 years since Napoleon had away with them. Canova managed to get two of them back, but the others went to the Louvre, from where they are now on loan.
