‘Gustav Klimt. Disegni intorno al fregio di Beethoven’
Spazio Oberdan, 2 Via Vittorio Veneto, Milan, 4th February – 6th of May 2012
‘Fregio’ meaning frieze – this exhibition, celebrating the 150th anniversary of Klimt, sees a scale replica of his famous Beethoven frieze that he painted directly onto a wall. The work was then sold and removed, eventually put on show again in 1986 in a specially constructed home in the Vienna Secession Building.
This homage features a 1:1 replica of the original, along with various other correlated works.
