‘Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Edward Burne-Jones e il mito dell’Italia nell’Inghilterra Vittoriana’
Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna, Rome
Tuesday to Sunday, 08.30 – 19.30
Literal translation would be Rosetti and Burne-Jones and the ‘myth’ of Italy in Victorian England, with myth meaning ‘ideal’ as in image, fascination, representation. Clearly the heavy-hitter here is the founding member of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, but the exhibition features over 100 pieces from private collections all over the world, many never before on public display.
