‘L’Ottocento elegante. Arte in Italia nel segno di Fortuny, 1860 – 1890’
Rovigo, Palazzo Roverella, 8/10 Via Laurenti
January 29th – June 12th 2011, Closed Mondays
‘The elegant 19th century. Art in Italy in the traces of Fortuny’ is a far from elegant translation of the title of this exhibition, but you get the idea. The exhibition focuses on the second half of the nineteenth century, with Mariano Fortuny, to give him his Italianised name, looming large over all, tipifying the elegance, the extravagance, vitality, style and colour of the times.
Rovigo is to the south west of Venice, roughly halfway between Padua and Ferrara.
