Overview
The tour lasts about 75 minutes and it runs in English.
The tour offers the chance to see Gualtieri di Brienee's mediaeval stairway, and the private chambers of the Grand Dukes Francesco and Cosimo de' Medici. These splendid rooms, the 'Studiolo' and the 'Tesoretto', linked by secret passages, offered a rare chance of privacy for the rulers of Florence. You'll also get to admire the splendid frescoes and panels of the Salone del Cinquecento.
After the tour you'll be free to explore the rest of the museum on your own.
The Palazzo Vecchio
Undoubtedly one of the most photographed buildings in Florence, the Palazzo Vecchio sits in the very centre of the city, looking out onto Piazza dell Signoria and down onto the replica of Michelangelo's David. In the year 2000 some 'private' areas were opened to the public for the first time, and now may be visited accompanied by an expert tour guide (please note that the maximum group size is 7 people).
