Palazzo Strozzi, Florence, 12th March to 17th July 2011
Seven days a week, 09.00-20.00, Thursdays open until 23.00
Another upcoming exhibition – ‘Picasso, Miró, Dalí. Giovani e arrabbiati: la nascita della modernità’ – and another Spanish menu, after Dalí in Milan and Miró in Pisa. These two greats, along with Picasso, are the subject of ‘Angry Young Men: the Birth of Modernity’ at the Palazzo Strozzi in Florence.
The exhibition features around 30 works by each artist and, given the title, clearly focuses on their respective early years. These are rarely shown works – pre-cubism Picasso, Miró and Dalí before surrealism – and they shine a light on the trio that pretty much created modern art in Spain. As yet we’re not taking reservations, but we’ll update here as soon as this changes.
